Time went by too fast

So, it has been 2 months since Lily was born. It seems like it's been much longer than that, but I also feel like she just barely got here. I have to go back to work in 22 days and I feel like I haven't had enough time with her. I like to go to work and chat with all my co-workers about each others lives and the funny things that come up while at work, but I'm gonna miss my baby. I so desperately want to be a stay at home mom again, but right now, it just doesn't work out that way. It makes me so sad to think of all the time that's going to be spent away from my kids.

I think it's so funny how gangster my kids look. Alyssa and Micah with their serious faces and Lily poppin' the collar. Hillarious!

Lily Starr Bailey

Lily is finally here. We went to the hospital to be induced at 9 in the morning, and got the pitocin around 10. An hour to 2 hours later I got my epidural. So I pretty much felt no labor pains up until about the very end. For the longest time I was stuck at 5 cm until the on call doctors switched. The new dr came and checked me, told me I was a good 6 and 100% effaced and he thought I would be ready in another 1/2 an hour. He came back 30 minutes later and I was ready. It took only 2 pushes. The doctor told me to stop after the second push so that my body could adapt and stretch instead of tear, but her head kept comming. Then a little hand and arm reached out and she pulled herself on out. She was ready to meet the world. Lily Starr was born October 1, 2010 at 6:11 pm. She was 7 lbs 3 oz and 19" long.

It's Almost Over

Here we are at 38 weeks! It's been a really stressful and exhausting experience that I'm not sure I will repeat ever again.
Tuesday was my last OB appointment. I am now dialated to a 3, which isn't bad but 2 weeks a ago I was at a 1 1/2, then the week after that I was at a 2 1/2. So, I was hoping for at least another cm this week too. Oh well. I have set up the appointment to be induced on Friday and I'm excited and very anxious. I am so ready to be done! I cannot recall the last time that I have felt comfortable.
Today was my last day of work for the next 12 weeks! Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I took the day off before I we're going to be induced to get some things done. I have to go grocery shopping, clean the house, make sure the bills are in the mail, pack a bag for my kids (who are staying at my parents house while we are at the hospital), and a bag for Zachary. My bag has been packed for almost 2 weeks now.
I can't wait to see what my baby looks like.

Lily's Room

We are almost done with Lily's room! The only things we need are some decorations.

Third Trimester

In the home stretch now! If Lily comes a week early like Alyssa and Micah did there is only about 10 weeks left to go. I CANNOT wait to not be pregnant! Every day I am so uncomfortable and in so much pain from carrying her around.
I wonder all the time what she is going to look like. If she's going to look similar to Micah or Alyssa or a completely different baby altogether. She is a very demanding baby who likes things to go her way. If my stomach or bladder get full she pushes and kicks on them because they are in her way and she does not tolerate that. Neither does she tolerate my ribs on the right side, because that is her new spot and they should not be there.
The nursery is coming together very slowly. So far the walls and changing table have been painted. There are clothes all over the place because I was going through the girls old baby clothes seeing what I still wanted to keep for Lily and what to give away. I don't have the energy to keep up with the normal household chores, a full time job, and finishing Lily's room.

All Out In The Open!

I know we told most everyone that we weren't going to find out the sex of the baby, but we did. Our plan was to make everyone think we wouldn't find out and surprise everyone later. Some people got a card in the mail, others got a surprise cake (that didn't go so well because some people can't keep secrets), and others we just flat out told.

Here she is! Our little Lily Starr!

Sweet Little Baby

Today we got to see our little baby again. Baby is healthy and looks good. Now what are we going to name it?

Memorial Weekend Camping Trip

We went up to 5 mile pass. Of course I forgot to bring a camera. As you can see the kids were pretty tired when we went home.

Hollywood Connection

Decided to go to Hollywood Connection one Saturday with Jason, Ender, and Lexi. The kids had lots of fun. There was a small roller coaster, roller skating rink, bumber boat things, a carousel, and a couple other things. Micah really loved the carousel. She would get off and instantly want to get back on to ride a different animal.

Half Way There

I can't believe it. There are only 20 weeks left until Baby Bailey is born! The nursery is a mess. Most of the girls toys are still in there so of course they have been playing in there making a huge mess. I have been really really exhausted lately and feeling very heavy and weighed down. Some days I don't think I'm going to make it to the end.

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)
He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

Happy Mother's Day

Today was a great day! I got to sleep in until 9 and took a long well needed nap. Plus Alyssa gave me a homemade (well, really school made) card and read me a cute little poem. All of which Micah took credit for too. I really loved the poem. So, here it is:
Hats Off To Mother
My mother's job is sometimes hard, and I have hear her say,
'The hours are long, and if I could, I'd like to change the pay.'
Her profession has variety, and I will tell you now
About the many hats she wears-and why and when and how.
1. My mommy's a nurse who fixes and patches
All of my hurts and my sores and my scratches.
2. My mother's a chef who fixes each dinner
Fit for a king-a blue-ribbon winner!
3. My mom's a chauffeur who drives pretty slow
But gets me to places where I need to go.
4. My mom's a detective, and no one is greater
At getting the truth from me sooner or later.
5. My mommy's a gardener and works really hard.
Planting and weeding and grooming out yard.
6. My mother's a maid-at least that's what she said-
'Cause she cleans up the house and makes everyone's bed.
7. My mother's an angel-a queen in disguise-
Who teaches me with love in her eyes.
Today take these hats off, and please wear no other.
Let me do your work, to show I LOVE YOU MOTHER!

After that cute poem with all the cute little cut-out hats on sticks, I asked if Alyssa was really going to wear all my hats today. She replied with silence, but Micah said that she'd wear my hats. I don't think she really understood what I was asking.

The Sun Is In The Sky Oh Why Oh Why Would I Wanna Be Anywhere Else

These past couple of days have been Amazing! The sun has been out and it's been warm. Today feels just like another Saturday. The girls slept over at Nana and Papa's last night and when I went to get them this morning, my mom had made them breakfast. When I was growing up that was only something she would do on a Saturday morning. I guess that's what first started the Saturday feeling. After we got home from running a few errands I think the girls caught some spring fever. They jumped out of the car got on the scooter, ran around, and wanted to eat yogurt outside. Silly kids. After all that I made them weed. Alyssa did a pretty good job, and Micah just sat there watching Alyssa. I really need to get our vegetable garden started before it gets too late in the season. So, once Zachary comes home from work I am planning on a trip to Home Depot. They're having some good sales that are only good today, and I really don't have any other time to go besides today.
Zachary has gotten a new VERY EXPENSIVE toy.

I'm never going to be able to be a stay at home mom, but whatever he's happy.
A couple things have happened since the last blog. Micah turned 3!!! On her birthday day we went to Chili's for dinner, and she got a free ice cream. She wasn't eating any of it, so I asked why she wasn't eating it. She told me that she wanted Alyssa's corn. So, instead of eating ice cream she ate Alyssa's corn on the cob and Alyssa ate the ice cream.

Easter was good. The girls got new dresses and a bunch of candy.

Be My Valentine Charlie Brown

WARNING: THIS BLOG ENTRY IS PRETTY MUCH ABOUT NONSENSE.
Last Night I was watching Be My Valentine Charlie Brown, when it hit me. This kid is really really depressed. I don't know why I never realized or noticed before, but I do now. While I was thinking about that I kept thinking that once he hits puberty it would probably get worse and worse, and if he didn't get professional help he might do something terrible to himself. Don't know why I'm overanalysing a cartoon, but whatever.
So, Happy Valentines Day! I hate getting the girls candy because Alyssa is so prone to getting cavities. So, this year I made the kids coloring books. Nothing too big just coloring pages I printed off the internet and bound together with staples. Micah got a My Little Pony book and Alyssa got a Princess and The Frog book. In addition to that I made them each a Crayola activity book, Disney Princess book, and a Disney Fairies book. They really love them and are coloring at the moment which makes me happy that at the moment I can make them happy with things that hardly cost anything.
Last night I made soup again! I love it when we have chicken or turkey. Then I can use the bones to make a stock and have homemade soup the next day. I love love love homemade chicken/turkey noodle soup. Plus it's so easy to make. Takes a couple hours, but not labor intense at all.
I have been having crazy "pregnant" (not really sure if it's because I'm prego or I have a messed up subconscience mind) dreams. It seems like every night I dream about killing somebody (never anyone I know or even met), or watching someone be killed. They are all so vivid too. I wish it would stop because it's really creeping me out. Also, last night I dreamt that I could feel my baby kicking, which is bizare because it's a seasame seed. My friend Tiarra was there and I kept telling her the baby was kicking and for her to feel, but she didn't believe me because the baby would stop when she felt for it.

Our Little Seasame Seed

We really should stop calling the baby a he until we know for sure. I don't remember if we did that with Micah too or not, probably. We were pretty sure she was going to be a boy.

Deep in your uterus your embryo is growing at a furious pace. At this point, he's about the size of a sesame seed, and he looks more like a tiny tadpole than a human. He's now made up of three layers — the ectoderm, the mesoderm, and the endoderm — which will later form all of his organs and tissues. The neural tube — from which your baby's brain, spinal cord, nerves, and backbone will sprout — is starting to develop in the top layer, called the ectoderm. This layer will also give rise to his skin, hair, nails, mammary and sweat glands, and tooth enamel. His heart and circulatory system begin to form in the middle layer, or mesoderm. (This week, in fact, his tiny heart begins to divide into chambers and beat and pump blood.) The mesoderm will also form your baby's muscles, cartilage, bone, and subcutaneous (under skin) tissue. The third layer, or endoderm, will house his lungs, intestines, and rudimentary urinary system, as well as his thyroid, liver, and pancreas. In the meantime, the primitive placenta and umbilical cord, which deliver nourishment and oxygen to your baby, are already on the job.

When a Mommy and Daddy love each other...

Today I got my hair cut! I mean really got my hair cut. It was pretty much down to my butt and now it's up to my shoulders. I also got to sleep in until 9 this morning! The girls usually wake up around 8 and come in and wake me up, but today (I only had Micah since Alyssa slept over at Nana's house) Micah came in at 9 letting me know she wanted to watch tv downstairs. I'm not sure if she had been up earlier than that playing in her room or had just woken up.
So, Zachary and I have been talking about having a baby for a long time now and I told him that once I was out of my birth control I would not refill it and we would try. Our first month wasn't so good. I thought that I was pregnant because a had a period that was 2 weeks late. I kind of felt that I wasn't pregnant, but I couldn't understand why I hadn't had my period. Anyways this past week or so I could tell there was something different with my body. IDK, I guess I could just feel the little spirit growing inside me, and Zachary could too. Last night he kept telling me that he could feel a baby (?????).

So, I went to the drugstore today and picked up a test assuming it was going to be negative again and after I turned around from washing my hands there were 2 lines this time. I jumped up and down and was screaming for joy!

J/K 4 Week pregnant. Due date is October 9th

Wouldn't It Be Nice

I picked up my sewing machine from my parent's house last night! Yay! It's been so long since I've sewn. I have a ton of projects to do.
1. Plastic grocery bag holders (one for the kitchen the other for a nursery for diapers. No baby yet, but hopefully soon)
2. Cute little coasters
3. Placemats
4. A bag for Micah and Alyssa each
5. Snuggies!
Now all I need is the time to do it all.
How I wish I was a stay-at-home mom again. It would be nice to have a clean house everyday again.

Better Late Than Never

Alyssa was pretending the bathtub was her stage and was practicing her "Jingle Jam" song before school.

If you can't tell she is singing "I Want a Hippopotumus for Christmas"
Of course Micah didn't want to be left out. So, once Alyssa hopped down from the tub, Micah jumped up and started singing too.

I'm not sure, but I think Micah is trying to sing Jingle Bells.

Micah-Doodle

Today Micah learned how to wink! She has also become VERY independent. Everytime I try to help her put on her footie jammies I get yelled at, "No! I can do it!"

Oh That Darn Wii!

So here I am just sitting up waiting for Zachary to finish playing some WWE game on the Wii, when I thought about some of my favorite things that I want to share.

I know that I go on about how I love coupons. Alyssa even knows. Every time I say I have a coupon or even mention coupons, she tells whoever else is with us that her mommy loves coupons. I think that everyone should know about how to use them effectively to save as much money as possible. I was introduced to sheshopssmart.blogspot.com by my co-worker Dusty, and I am so grateful to her for telling me about the site and how to get started with the coupons. Even though Zachary doesn't think so, I know I have saved us tons of money and built up our food storage.

BeautiControl is kind of like Mary Kay, only a bit different. One of my highschool friends Janalynn had a party at her house and I really didn't know what to expect. They did hand treatments, facials, lip exfoliations, and foot detox treatments. I loved it. It made my hands, face, and feet so soft. I got the Skinlogics Acne line, since I am constantly battling acne rrrrrr, and I love it. Pretty much the same stuff as Mary Kay only it works much better (sorry mom). If you live in Utah you should definatly book a party, I did. Even though the treatments are wonderful, I think the parties can be more organized. At a Mary Kay party everyone has their own tray with their own facial stuff on it so that everyone can all do it together. Instead at the BeautiContol parties I have been to it's a one person at a time thing. That is the only thing that I think is a downside to BeautiControl.

I love the Shaytards! They are my favorite thing to watch on YouTube. Sometimes it's boring, but for the most part this family is crazy funny. Micah loves Babytard. Everytime she sees me on the computer, even if I'm not watching Shaytards, she says, "Wanna watch Babytard." Oh boy and once she sees Babytard she gets excited and says, "That's Babytard!" Zachary is the one who told me to first watch them. Just completely out of nowhere while he was at airborne school he texts me to look up shaytards on youtube. I really thought he might be crazy and if I looked it up it would be people acting retarded. IDK. It was a couple of days after that text that I actually looked it up, because Zachary was on the phone nagging me to check it out. He kept going on about how the little girls in it were like ours are in one of the videos, and they are. The two little girls were in their princess dresses watching Tinkerbell, just like ours do.

And This Is Where It All Begins

Let's start from the very beggining. Zachary and I met at Provo College. After a couple months of school we started dating. We were married July 8, 2006. Soon after that came our honeymoon baby Micah Mckell. We really didn't feel the need to wait long after we got married to have another child since Alyssa, my child from a previous relationship, had just turned 3. We didn't really want to have too much of an age gap. Thus began our little family!
